Work has commenced on forming the 2007 version of the Maitland Ice Sharks Minor Peewee ’95 team. The Ice Shark hockey program is designed specifically for elite hockey players residing throughout the Counties of Bruce, Grey, Huron, Perth, and Wellington with a desire to play Spring Hockey.
Spring Hockey is recognized as the most competitive part of the entire hockey season. The “best of the best” from across North America compete in a series of tournaments from April to mid June.
Scouting and player evaluations are ongoing and player recruitment is well underway. As the Ice Sharks organization operates a non-tryout hockey program, players participate by invitation only.
The Minor Peewee ’95 Ice Sharks are lead by Head Coach and General Manager, Marc Hodgkinson. Marc has assembled an outstanding staff that includes former OHL and professional players who are all looking forward to providing a fun, competitive environment for all the Minor Peewee Ice Sharks players. Practices & TournamentsThe Ice Sharks will be having six practices and participating in three tournaments in April and May of 2007 (click on the “Team Calendar” link to the left for more information). The three tournaments are the Northshore Challenge Cup (St. Thomas), Bluewater Sharks (Sarnia), and OTTF Spring Classic (Mississauga).
