Re-cap of this years 2008 Spring results
Minor Atom Maitland Icesharks had a tremendously successful spring with a record of 12 wins and 4 losses. The coaching staff were trying to build on last years successes. They were very pleased with the progress and the development of the team concepts. In three tournaments, they made it to the finals in two, winning one and barely missing out of the finals on the third tournament. They seemed to embrace the team philosophies supporting each other to accomplish the goals that were set out to them by the coaching staff. In the end, the parents and their fans were treated to some entertaining hockey.
It takes a very special group of people to come together in such a short amount of time. The team was treated to some very well organized potluck dinners and some really cheap entertainment. I do believe there were signs of a new super hero being developed called the “Orange Marble Sack Flash” I am still having nightmares over that.
The team was also introduced to some new terminology in which they caught onto quickly (That’s the way we roll). In all the kids played with a lot of spirit and passion for the game and represented not only themselves but the whole organization with dignity and professionalism. The kids will build on the lesson learned from the experience they were taught and apply them to their upcoming season with their respected teams. Thank you to everyone who supported us this spring.
