Major Peewee Ice Sharks have Tough Draw at Regional Spring Showdown Tournament
The Major Peewee Ice Sharks found themselves up against some tough teams in the Regional Spring Showdown Tournament in Brantford as they faced three of the four teams that advanced to the semi-finals.
The Ice Sharks opened the tournament against the Regional Express (Blue) team and lost 3-1. Their second game later in the day was against the Burlington Jr. Cougars and the Ice Sharks again came up short, losing 4-1.
Saturday saw the Ice Sharks play the Brackmount Braves and, in a lacklustre effort uncharacteristic for the team, they lost 9-2. The team bounced back with a better effort against the Regional Express (Gold) team later that same day. After defeating the Ice Sharks 7-0 (in a game closer than the score showed), the Regional Express (Gold) team would go on to defeat the Brackmount Braves 5-1 in the finals the next day to win the tournament.
