98 Icesharks vs The Zone
The 98 Icesharks played against the Zone, whom are from the Kitchener area, in their first exhibition game. It was a good first introduction to triple A hockey for a few of these kids. We as a team saw alot of positive things come out of this game that in turn will help us to move forward.
We sensed the frustration on the kids faces which means they have the competative edge to compete. The coaching staff had very good luck as to what they want to instill into these young athletes. We had to explain to them that this is the first time they were on the ice playing as a team and still doing introductions. Most, if not all players, were taking out of their comfort zone and playing in positions they normally don't play in.
We did this in order to find out a little bit more about the kids and how they react in certain situations. Although the Ice Sharks lost 8-2, the game was closer then the score indicated. We all look forward in working with your child in future practices and games. We would also like to thank Brent West for coming out for the first time and supporting our team.
