TYKES PUT UP A GREAT FIGHT IN SARNIA
While attending their last tournament the kids and parents had another memorable weekend on and off the ice!

The tykes came out flying the first game against the Orange Crush and again scored the first goal of the game. Sheldon Pryce passed the puck from the corner to Braeden Holloway who passed over to Kyle Stanbury who found the back of the net in the first shift of the game. Then with 2 min left in the first Braeden Holloway scored unassisted. 30 sec. later Sam Dupuis scored  on a nice pass from Parker Miller. The Sharks were not finished scoring in the first yet, when Kendon Zettle found the back of the net on another great pass this time from Carter McLlwain giving the Sharks a 4 -1 lead after 1.
The second period was quiet with only 1 goal scored by Tanner Reid  assisted by Riley Kuepfer making the score 5-1 after 2.
Early in the third the Sharks started pouring it on with Kendon Zettle scoring his second of the game assisted by Brennan Long.1 min. later Brennan Long found the back of the net  assisted by  Tanner Reid. With 2 min. left in the game Braeden Holloway scored his 2nd of the game again assisted by Kyle Stanbury and Sheldon Pryce. With only 18 sec. left in the game  Kendon Zettle scored giving him the "HAT TRICK"  assisted by Leah Herrfort, winning the game 9-1.
Then the bells were ringing at game 2 against Belle-Tire. This proved to be the roughest team the Ice Sharks team faced all spring if you can believe it. Yes kids this age deliberately taking our kids out with great body checks, seeing Belle-Tire take 8 body checking pennalties and 1   5 min. major as well as 2 other pennalties.
The Sharks did very well adapting to the different atmosphere and the lone goal scorer was Tanner Reid  from Kendon Zettle  leaving the final score  6 -1 for Belle-Tire.
Off to the Hotel we go to heal some wounds and the Larry the trainer guy looking for a pair of skates for Saturday as he was on the ice just as much as the kids were Fri. night. After a quick ball game Friday night and some problem solving in the hallway it was back to work early Sat. against the Tri County Hounds.
The Sharks played a solid game from start to finish working very hard and dominating the play, but couldn't get a bounce to go our way. Sheldon Pryce scored the first goal assisted by Kyle Stanbury and Jack Lukas. With the score close all game Eric Vander Eyk scored on a shot from the point  to tie the game at 2. Sheldon Pryce would get his second of the game to regain the lead assisted by Braeden Holloway. The Hounds came right back to tie the game at 3 . Into the thrid the Sharks were again controling the play when we took a penalty and the Hounds capitalized on the power play to take the lead 4-3. The Hounds would get another lucky bounce and would win the game 5-3.
With time to burn the team had a ball game and a barbeque at the Complex before game 4.
Pro Tips  came out flying this time and by the end of the second they had the Sharks 5-0. With the Sharks not playing their best game by any means managed to get 1 goal scored by Kyle Stanbury , assisted by Sheldon Pryce, but that would be all and the game and tournament would end   with an 8 -1 score.
It is hard to believe that its all over .What a great effort by the kids and a great time this whole spring experience has been for all and I know that all of the kids will take something home from their own experience which will make them all better players next season which is only 3 mos. away.GOOD LUCK TO ALL and can't wait too see everyone at the rink sometime next winter!!
