SHARKS ADVANCING TO ANOTHER SUNDAY
This 01  group has a lot of determination and grit finding ways to win when it really counts!

Game 1 the Sharks came out flying against the Zone even though we gave up the first goal , that would be the only goal by the Zone. At 3:01 of the second Riley Kuepfer scored to tie the game on a text book play from our own end. Kyle Stanbury won the draw back to Josh Bakker who fired the puck around the boards to Sheldon Pryce who then hit Riley Kuepfer at center ice splitting the D and scoring on the breakaway. 1 1/2 min. later Parker Miller would score on a nice pass from Eric Vander Eyk and Leah Herrfort. Into the third at the 3:27 mark Kyle Stanbury would give us some breathing room scoring the 3rd goal assisted by Brennan Long. With the Zone desperatly trying to score , the Sharks in the penalty box and the Zone's goalie pulled a 6 on 4 , but the determination of the Sharks would prevail seeing Sage Buchanan getting the puck out to center ice and Sheldon Pryce taking it from there putting 1 in the empty net for a 4-1 victory.
Game 2
Not so pretty- vs the Elite Stars ( I think the Elite uniforms through us off holy stars and sponsors looking like a Europian team. The Sharks actually came out flying controlling much of the play in the first and with :40 sec left in period 1 Sheldon Pryce put the Sharks on the board on a great passing play from Riley Kuepfer and Eric VanderEyk. The Elite would tie the game at 10:01 of the sec. and then take the lead 1 min. later. The Sharks would bite back at 5:54 of the second to tie the game at 2 on a goal from Kendon Zettle working hard around the net assited by Jack Lucas and Kyle Stanbury. Unfortunatly I wish I had a better ending to this one but the wheels fell off down 4-2 at the end of the second and you will have to look it up on the tourney web-site to see the final score.Jacob Abbott and Bobby Mclachlan seen a lot of rubber in this match and stood tall in net, great job guys.
Game 3
With the Sharks looking like they must win the 2 remaining games of the round robin to play on Sunday putting game 2 on the back shelf and came out flying again taking an early 2-0 lead vs TPH. Kyle Stanbury would break the ice going in all alone putting the deke on the goalie and scoring on the open cage, assited by Riley Kuepfer. Tanner Reid would score the 2nd goal at 4:16 of the first after some great hard work and more great passing from Parker Miller and Kyle Stanbury. Tph would not give up though scoring early in the second to make it 2-1. At 8:53 of the 2nd Kyle Stanbury would score his 2nd of the game assited by Tanner Reid and Parker Miller. TPH would once again answer back to get within 1 seeing the Sharks with a 3-2 lead heading into the 3rd. At 14:40 of the thrid TPH ties the game at 3. Sharks would answer back 1 min. later on a goal by Parker Miller firing 1 into the back of the net assisted by Kyle Stanbury and Tanner Reid  to give the Sharks a 4-3 lead. With the Sharks battling hard taking it to TPH but just couldn't regain a 2 goal lead. TPH would then tie the game at 4 which is how this game ends 4-4.
Game 4
Sharks still have a chance to grab second place in there group needing a win over the Collingwood Blue Thunder.Look out its "hammer time " or should I say body checking time. Collingwood came out scoring first on the PP. Then early in the second Kyle Stanbury went in putting the deke on the goalie assisted by Jake Weston. Then Collingwood takes there first of 3 body checking penalties . Riley Kuepfer gives the Sharks the lead assisted by Sage Buchanan on the PP. The Thunder would answer back to tie the game at 2 after 2 periods. Then with 7 min. left in the game Eric VanderEyk scored to give the Sharks a 3-2 lead assited by Riley Kuepfer and Sheldon Pryce.  Then with a well disciplined Sharks group watching a lessor disciplined Collingwood bench and team unraval, deliberatly hitting the Sharks players and a cross check from behind found the Thunder in the penalty box for the last 6 min. Even though the Sharks had the man advantage we gave up a brake away in the last 2 min. as we watched Bobby Mclachlan stone the Thunder as they rammed the crease several times in that last 2 min. The coaches on the Sharks bench were very proud of the kids for not retaliating as things were getting out of hand in this one. Great job team holding onto the victory and securing second place for a semi- final match today at 3:00pm in St.Marys.
