'97's Win AAA Division at Spring Showdown
The Ice Sharks participated in the Canlan Spring Showdown in Toronto, and drove home on Sunday with the AAA Division championship.
Splitting games on both Friday and Saturday, set up Sunday morning's semi-final match against the Spartans.
Scoreless through 3 periods and a five minute 3 on 3 overtime period, a shootout was needed to settle this contest. The Sharks managed to take the victory from the Spartans with a 2-1 shootout margin.
In the championship game versus the Vipers, the Ice Sharks scored early and took charge through most of the game, posting a 5-1 victory.
The team looks to build on the strong goaltending, steady defensive play and capitalizing on it's scoring opportunities, as we prepare for the Thunder Spectacular on May 14-16th in Stratford / St Marys.
