Girls Have Strong Showing In First Tourney
The Ice Shark Girls get there there first taste of elite tournament action and come away with silver. The girls started a little slow in their first game but picked it up once they got use to the speed and physical play of the game. The Sharks take their first game 3-2 against Fierce Hockey. On Saturday the team from the Rock Xtreme Hockey was up next and it was a fast paced spirited affair with good chances to score and a lot of hard work. The girls came up short losing to what everyone thought was the best team of the tournament 3-1.

Game 2 on the day had the girls taking on the Ice Katz. Our girls came out fired up and scored first but couldn't find the death blow. As the game went on the tide began to turn and the Katz managed to score twice to take the victory 2-1. Game 3 on the day was set, its the girls from the rock again. With a new coach behind the bench the girls took to the ice sore and tired. Things would be different this game and the girls responded with their best effort of the tournament shocking Team Newfoundland with an acrobat first goal. The girls then managed the knock out blow with another goal. With hard work and some quality goaltending the Ice Sharks Girls put their first shutout in the books winning 2-0 to advanced to the Championship Game against Fierce Hockey. The Championship game would take place early Sunday. Coming off the big win in the semi's it was going to be hard to match that intensity but the girls were ready. All the girls worked hard and battled hard but came up a little short after a long weekend of intense hockey losing 2-1. Way to step up and answer all your critics girls you all played awesome. Success for you girls came a lot earlier than most were anticipating lets keep it going with our next tourney in June. Give yourselves a big pat on the back. Thanks to Ron, Kelly and Chris for helping out.
