Ice Shark Tykes Make Finals in Stratford
The second and last tournament of the season for the Ice Shark Tykes was a huge success.

Friday 9:15am in St.Marys was where this journey would begin. The Southwest jets were our first opponent and seeing them in an exhibition game earlier in the season gave us the edge we needed and we were able to come out on top with a 9-2 victory. Next up was the HTA lightning which we new were going to be tough as this tournament was their home tournament. With that on the minds of our players all it did was fuel a fire and we came out a blazing and easily knocked out the lightning with a 10-4 win.
Saturday morning 9:15am once again back in St.Marys but this time our opponent would be our arch rivals the Phase Hockey Green Gloves. The boys put together an unbelievable performance but were rattled by many questionable calls by the officials and came out on the down side of this one with a 3-1 loss. That loss would be our only one of the round robin as later in the day we were able to grab another win with an 8-1 score against the Pro Tips team.
Sunday morning, 8:30am Stratford, is when we proved to everyone that we were a true contender by putting together a complete team effort with players making plays and decisions way beyond their years. The Opponent that had to deal with this was once again the Southwest Jets who were also on their games but were only able to muster up 4 goals to our 8 which sent us straight into the Finals.

Championship game Maitland Ice Sharks vs Phase Hockey Green Gloves. As promised this game turned into a very physical and high Scoring affair. Even with all the goals that were scored Our Defence was exceptional making play after play and Moving the puck up ice to help our amazing forwards do what they needed to do. But it just was not our game as all the bounces seemed to go in favour of the Green Gloves and they came out on top with a 8-4 win.
Congratulations goes out to each and every player and I am very Proud to say that I am coach of this Team. These Players show enthusiasm and determination that I didnt' even know was possibble. When I look into the eyes of these guys each time they come to the bench  all I see is focus and a passion for this game Like no other, it is then that I realize how blessed and fortunate I am to be part of such a special group of young men. Thank you to the parents and players it has been great time and I hope next year we can do it all Again.
