Spring Practices begin for 2007 Ice Sharks!
Submitted By Mich Landry on Saturday, April 14, 2007
This past week, Ice Shark teams began the Spring season with practices in

... Listowel, Wingham and Stratford. The Atom Ice Sharks started this past Tuesday in Listowel. The Novices and Minor PeeWees opened up in Wingham on Wednesday and the Tykes skated Thursday in Stratford. This weekend, each Ice Shark team practices twice in Wingham.

The Spring tournament season kicks off at the Northshore Challenge Cup in St. Thomas Apr 28-30th. The Minor PeeWee, Atom and Novice teams are set to compete against strong squads such as Pro-Tips, Bluewater Sharks, The Edge, Northshore Hitmen, Regional Express and SW Elite. The Tyke team starts the following weekend at the Spring Shootout in Burlington.

In observing the practices this week, it is awe inspiring to witness the level of skill and talent residing in our counties of Grey, Bruce, Huron and Perth. Truly, the Ice Sharks are fortunate to have assembled a terrific group of elite athletes.

Congratulations to all you Ice Shark parents. As wonderful as Spring hockey is for our children, it is an enormous time and financial commitment, often interfering with other family events. Spending a spring day inside an arena isn't always an ideal "fun day". You should be commended for the effort and dedication required to provide this opportunity for your son or daughter. And Kids, if you haven't already, thank your parents!
