Ice Sharks Earn Respect at Northshore Challenge Cup!
Submitted By Mich Landry on Sunday, April 29, 2007
Three Ice Shark teams (Novice, Atom and Minor PeeWee) earned praise and respect from the Spring Hockey community this past weekend in Aylmer and St. Thomas at the 2nd annual Northshore Challenge Cup.

Displaying grit and a solid work effort, the Major Atoms battled Regional Express Blue in the semi-final, losing a hard fought game 4-2. Overall, the atoms made solid progress and are starting to round into a solid team.

At times in the tournament, the Novice team was dominant. Solid goaltending and balanced scoring led the way in impressive wins over Northshore Hitman and Bluewater Sharks. A momentary lapse in the 3rd period against Pro-Tips resulted in a 4-3 loss and a missed opportunity to the finals. This team is poised for an outstanding Spring season.

The Minor PeeWee squad had an amazing tournament, losing in the final game 3-2 to SW Elite. Along the way, the PeeWees devoured Northshore Hitman (Black), Northshore Hitman (Red) and the Edge (twice). Great goaltending and timely offense were the keys to their weekend success.

The Ice Shark organization is proud of each of these teams. Congratulations to all players and coaches on your outstanding effort!
