PeeWee, 2011 (Maitland PEP Ice Sharks AAA Spring Hockey)

The 98's went through the round robin action with a perfect 4-0 record, at the Hockey Hilites Thunder Spectacular tournament. Unfortunately in the semi-finals, the challenge of recovering from a 3-0 first period deficit was too much to overcome, falling 6-4 to Xcelerate.

The '98 Ice Sharks ran into some stiff competition at their first tournament of the year, in Brantford on April 29-30th. In the first game against the Vipers from Port Erie, the Sharks dominated the play from start to finish, to earn a 6-0 victory.  All three lines contributed to the scoring, and had numerous opportunities.  Both Viper goalies played very well, otherwise the score would have been considerably higher.  Tristen Lewis earned the shutout for the Sharks.

The '98's travelled to Walkerton for an exhibition game against the Quick Feet and drove home with a 6-4 win. The short-handed Sharks jumped out to a 3-0 first period lead, but let the lead slip away in the second, allowing the Quick Feet to even things up.  However the Sharks dug in to rally in the third, scoring 3 goals off some good passing plays and precision shooting. The Sharks look to hit the ice after the Easter weekend, in preparation for their first tournament in Brantford the week after.

The 2011 team selection for the 1998 Ice Sharks isw almost complete, We are hoping to finalize the roster by January 22nd. Team tournaments are on the calendar, and practice times will soon be scheduled.
