04' Ice Sharks North are Canlan Gold Finalists
It was a great weekend of hockey for the new Ice Shark team. Not knowing how the team was going to gel and come together the team tried their luck in a Canlan tournament. This was a good tournament to get their feet wet and get to know each other in game like situations.
As we started on Friday the boys were nervous and unsure as we took on Jr Buzzers ls. As soon as we scored the first goal all that went away and the team started to come together. As the tournament went on the kids worked together and continued to work on the things we have been practicing and it really showed in a 9-2 win over Kitchener. The team faced a stronger Buzzer team kept battling and forcing the play came out on top once again. Sunday the Sharks had advanced to the Gold final. This was a great game on the ice and seen the sharks play one of their best defensive games of the tournament. The boys ended the tournament loosing 1-0. Going into this Canlan tournament was a good way to gauge the team as a group and the coaching staff were very proud at the way the kids have came together after just 5 practices.
Next up the Sharks are in Stratford and the boys are excited and up for the challenge.
