99 Ice Sharks & Edge Battle to Draw!
The 99 Sharks were excited that hydro was back, and that it was “game on” against the EDGE yesterday afternoon in Wingham.
This exhibition game represented our first game of the year for our eager Sharks, while on the other hand our opponent the EDGE representing players from the KW area, and were participating in their 5th game of their young season. This fast paced match resulted in a well played 2-2 tie. As expected, the Ice Sharks started a bit slow, but by the mid point of the first period were beginning to find their stride, resulting in strong play for the remainder of the game. The team improved and worked hard on, their puck movement, defensive play and offensive attack during the course of the game. Our goaltenders had a solid game between the pipes and were supported by strong game by our 5 D-Men. Up front, our forwards began to mesh as a Unit as the contest went on, resulting in some excellent scoring chances for our Team down the stretch, well done Ice Sharks! We take the positives from our performance, along with our areas needing improvement, and look forward to our first Tournament of the Season, this weekend at the “Nike Bauer Spring Shootout”. We wish to thank the “EDGE” Hockey Spring Program for their cooperation in playing a home and home exhibition series with us this season, and wish them all the best with their remaining season.
