Five Minor Atoms meet in playoff series.
OMHA playoffs see the Minor Atom Centre Wellington Fusion vs Owen Sound Attack.
Centre Wellington Fusion met the Owen Sound Attack for a playoff game on Saturday, January 23rd.
It wasn't the first time these 2 teams met. They played against each other in the final game of the Silver Stick qualifier tournament in Owen Sound when the Fusion won 4 to 2. It was clear then that the two teams are evenly matched. Players included Carson Hebner and Dean Sealey for Centre Wellington and Malachi Albrecht, Austin VanWyck and Connor Roberts for Owen Sound.
Saturday’s game saw five Ice Sharks on the ice. Both Carson and Malachi were in net for their respective teams. What a great game! The boys had us on the edge of our seats the whole time. Both goalies saw lots of action and both were hot. At the end of the third period the game was tied 1-1. Overtime! Five minutes into a 10 minute overtime the Fusion took a penalty and were a man short. On the power play, an Owen Sound player took a hard shot. It was deflected off a defenceman's stick, and went over Carson's shoulder.
This one went to Owen Sound. The two teams meet again next Saturday, January 30th in Fergus for another playoff game.
