Ice Shark Tykes Win Championship at Future Stars
Canaln Future Stars Tournament in Toronto was a huge success for the 2005 Tykes.
In game 1 we had trouble playing as a team which showed on the scoreboard with a loss but by the time we got to the second game it was a whole differrent story.
Everyone on the team put forth a tremendous effort, by moving the puck well, making passes and never being selfish. It was this win against the Burlington Cougars that showed everyone that we were a true contender in this tournament. Again Saturday morning we came out skating hard and were able to beat the Ontario Broncos in by far the most exciting game of the tournament with a 1-0 final. By Saturday evening after a day of Hotel hallway mini sticks and swimming we came out flat and suffered a tough loss to the Just Shoot It team.The 2-2 record after the round robin was enough to put us in a silver medal championship game against the Just Shoot it team. Again we got back to team play again with every player now starting to understand their roles. With the defence now moving the puck well and the forwards digging hard we were able to squeeze out a 5-1 win and Take the silver championship. All in all a fun tournament with each player improving during each and every game. !!!!!!!CONGRATULATION GUYS!!!!!!
